Arizona Governor Doug Ducey Congratulates Kari Lake on Her GOP Gubernatorial Primary Victory

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey (R) said Saturday that he and the Republican Governors Association (RGA), which he co-chairs, are backing Kari Lake.

“The votes are counted, the races are settled, and the Arizona Republican primary is over.  Thank you to all who participated — it’s not easy subjecting yourself to the scrutiny of being a candidate these days,” Ducey said on Twitter. “This is going to be an important election given the issues our state is facing and it’s important for Arizona Republicans to unite behind our slate of candidates.”

“As co-chairman of the Republican Governors Association, our organization is already active on the airwaves supporting Kari Lake’s candidacy. Congratulations to Kari on a hard-fought victory and to all the candidates who will be carrying the GOP banner in November,” Ducey tweeted.

Ducey supported Karrin Taylor Robson, who lost by a margin of 4.3 percent (a number that could still grow larger) to Lake in the multi-way primary bid for the Republican nomination for governor.

The two-term governor, who is poised to exit office in January, joined CNN‘s “State of the Union” in July to bash Lake.

“Kari Lake is misleading voters with no evidence,” he said, referring to Lake’s questioning of the 2020 election results. “She’s been tagged by her opponents with a nickname, ‘Fake Lake,’ which seems to be sticking and actually doing some damage. Karrin Taylor Robson started from zero and now this is a margin-of-error race.”

Lake’s campaign says it is focused on bringing the Republican Party together in order to defeat Democrat Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who easily won her primary election bid.

“We’re all big boys and big girls and we need to step forward and say that was a … grueling fight and now we come together,” Lake said in a radio interview Friday.

She has called for unification of the Republican Party moving forward.

“It’s morning again in Arizona,” Lake’s chief strategist Bill Grant told The Sun Times Thursday. “Kari is totally focused on uniting this party and defeating Katie Hobbs.”

Starting with the 2019 federal election continuing through 2 Nov 2022 Ducy has been a large RINO just like McShame. He has done next to NOTHING for Arizonans. He just started send ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS to NYC while for almost 2 years he has only given lip service to this critical issue which is DESTROYING towns, cities and ranchers along the Southern AZ border. The State is and has been facing a real or potential crisis for the time of him as Governor and once again he did not address a meaningful solution. A worthless governor.
