Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy Endorses Juan Ciscomani in Congressional Contest

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA-23) on Monday endorsed congressional candidate Juan Ciscomani in the race to represent Arizona’s new 6th Congressional District.

Ciscomani, an advisor to Governor Doug Ducey on the Arizona-Mexico Commission, is a native of Southern Arizona and looking to fill the vacant seat, following the retirement of Ann Kirkpatrick (D-AZ-02).

“Juan Ciscomani is a conservative fighter for Southern Arizona, and we need his help in Congress to stop the radical Biden-Pelosi agenda. Juan embodies the American Dream, and he’s working to rebuild it for everyday Arizonans. Juan’s message is resonating with voters across his district, and he has built a strong campaign that will help us Fire Pelosi and Take Back the House in November! I’m proud to endorse Juan Ciscomani for Congress,” said Leader Kevin McCarthy.

Previously, the Arizona Republican was one of 11 candidates across the country endorsed by the Congressional Leadership Fund—a PAC that is closely connected to McCarthy.

The endorsement from the GOP leader will likely boost Ciscomani’s fundraising efforts and place the candidate on a national stage.

“I am honored to receive Leader McCarthy’s endorsement,” said Ciscomani. “Leader McCarthy is someone I greatly admire, and who is leading the effort to help American families who are being strained by the Biden-Pelosi agenda. His leadership and commitment to elect conservatives across the country is exactly what we need to take back the House in 2022. I look forward to working with him this election cycle and joining him in the 118th Congress.”

After launching his campaign, Ciscomani hit the ground running, raising more than $600,000 in the first eight weeks of his efforts.

The competition is expected to be tough in the battleground district, containing parts of rural, eastern Arizona in addition to Tucson.
