Gubernatorial Candidate Kari Lake Calls Arizona 2020 Election Audit ‘Death by a Thousand Knife Wounds’

JASPER, Georgia – When asked what big takeaway there was in the Maricopa County election audit, Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake told The Georgia Star News, “There were so many. It’s like death by a thousand paper cuts. I call it ‘death by a thousand knife wounds’ because these are so much bigger than paper cuts.”

“We had 34,000 votes that were counted two, three or four times, 740,000 ballots with no chain of custody. They shouldn’t have even been counted, and it goes on and on. The wrong paper stock was used,” she added.

“We’ve got issues with our voting machines, and that’s why I’m involved in an injunction. I filed it a couple of weeks ago. I filed an injunction in federal court in Phoenix to ban the use of the Dominion and electronic voting machines,” said Lake.

She added, “A hundred percent of our vote in Arizona is counted by these machines. We’ve put this sacred vote into the hands of three private companies who won’t tell us how their machines work. They can’t prove that they’re secure.”

The injunction was mentioned on Friday at the Appalachian Gun, Pawn & Range in Jasper, Georgia, where Lake met with local supporters at a campaign stop of the Real Georgia Speaks Team Trump Bus Tour before appearing as an on-air guest on The John Fredericks Show.

The defendants in the suit include the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, the Pima County Board of Supervisors, and Kari Lake’s opponent in the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial race, Katie Hobbs.

Hobbs, the current Secretary of State of Arizona, recently changed her position with regard to Title 42 when she announced that lifting it “without a clear plan to secure our border would be a disaster.”

Lake, who is currently leading the race to replace outgoing Governor Doug Ducey, elaborated on the electronic voting machines. “They can’t prove that they’re un-hackable. We want security and transparency. That’s how you have an honest election. And without those two things, you can’t have an honest election.”

“In 2017, Democrats, they were throwing a fit about it, rightfully so, about these machines. I heard Kamala Harris saying that she saw it, witnessed with her own eyes as they hacked into a machine right in front of her. And we need to stop that,” Lake said.

Lake also expressed the necessity of having a tangible, physical record of each vote. “We need to have paper ballots that we count.”

The former news anchor added, “We need to get rid of these drop boxes and just do it the way we used to do it, where we actually had a result at the end of the night. We didn’t just keep counting until they got the result they wanted,” she said.
