YouTube Censors Conservative Show Featuring Kari Lake

Arizona Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake recently spoke on the popular conservative show Louder with Crowder, but YouTube has struck down the episode.

“Tech tyrants are censoring @scrowder for something we talked about on his show last week,” Lake tweeted. “Who knows what it was & who cares–this is wrong. IT IS UNAMERICAN. We the people must denounce censorship in any form.”

The show’s host, comedian Steven Crowder, shared the reason YouTube knocked down the video. According to a notice sent by the company, the video “advances false claims that widespread fraud, errors, or glitches changed the outcome of the U.S. 2020 presidential election,” which YouTube does not allow on its site.

During the original video available to watch on Rumble, Lake said she does not believe Joe Biden won the 2020 election and is, therefore, an illegitimate president. Crowder also spoke about the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago, mentioning that elected officials should pressure Republicans with national influence to “disband the FBI, to make sure that we reduce the scope of the IRS.” Lake agreed with Crowder’s statement.

When the video was taken down, Crowder, who claims to be no stranger to YouTube censorship, released a video explaining that this was not just an attack on him but also on Lake.

“This is the first time that I know of where a current gubernatorial candidate was banned, was suspended,” said Crowder, “for something they said about an election in which they are currently running,” Crowder said.

Furthermore, the Republican Party of Arizona also spoke up about the censorship, saying on Twitter that this was a “planned and strategic attempt to try and censor the peoples’ candidate in the Arizona’s Governor’s race.”

Lake is an open opponent of big tech censorship. Part of her plan, if elected as Arizona’s next governor, would include going after anyone who perpetuates cancel culture and censorship.

“This isn’t a game anymore. This is about your freedom. Freedom from censorship. Freedom from oppression. Freedom from thought-control. Freedom to not be afraid that a slip of the tongue today, or twenty years ago, will be used to take your job, your life away,” according to Lake’s plan. “The unholy alliance between cancel culture, big tech, higher education, and government must be broken. As Governor, I will lead the way to stopping this assault on rationality.”

To make it all happen, Lake said she would withhold state-shared revenue from any Arizona governmental body that limits freedom of speech “beyond the traditional boundaries,” such as speech that incites violence. Furthermore, any business that engages in cancel culture will not be eligible for tax breaks within Arizona.

“Pure and simple: we are going to end taxpayer subsidization of these attacks on our freedom, conscience, and free will,” Lake said.
