U.S. Senate Hopeful Blake Masters: Mark Kelly Should Go Back to Space

PHOENIX, Arizona – Arizona Senate Republican nominee Blake Masters spoke at the recent “Unite and Win” rally in Phoenix, hosted by Turning Point Action, telling Arizonans it is time to get Mark Kelly (D-AZ) out of office.

“You know what, hey, we can respect that he [Kelly] used to be an astronaut,” Masters said. “I’m sure he was really great at it. Doing all the experiments in space or whatever it is that astronauts do nowadays. Let him do that. Because here on earth, he’s failing. Here on Earth, we have some big problems. Here on Earth, we have massive inflation. Here on Earth, in Arizona, there’s an invasion at our southern border.”

While speaking, he told the crowd they could not tolerate a “rubber stamp” Democrat like Kelly who “just does whatever Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi tell him to do.” Masters called Kelly “California’s third senator” and spoke about the dangers these “one-party” states present.

“When something’s broken, the Democrats, they don’t want to do anything about it. They just leave it alone and let it get worse. Right? Because what are you going to do about it? Vote for somebody else? Nope, can’t do that in a one-party state. Good luck doing that in California or New York. So you see the problem, the problem is when Democrats have power, and there’s no one there to provide any sort of check or balance,” Masters said. “It’s a good thing that the rest of the country isn’t as messed up as New York and California because at least those people have someplace to flee to, right? But we don’t, and that’s why Senator Mark Kelly’s got to go.”

Masters went on to say that there is no spare America, so people need to make sure that this country works and fix the problems it faces. He said to fix a problem, “you turn around,” and that the people of Arizona have an opportunity to turn around this November by getting Democrats out of office.

Moreover, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis later spoke at the event in favor of Masters while bashing the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) that recently passed the U.S. House and Senate.

“What does this bill [IRA] do? It has nothing to do with reducing inflation. In fact, it’s probably going to increase inflation. But it’s spending a lot of money. It’s hiring 87,000 IRS agents. What are those IRS agents gonna do? They are going to be sicced on people the government doesn’t like. They are going to be sicced on working people, contractors, restaurant owners, people that drive Ubers. They’re not going after the billionaires,” DeSantis said. “This is not good policy, and it just shows you the contempt that they [Democrats] have for us that they would pass a monstrosity and call it the Inflation Reduction Act. The real Inflation Reduction Act is when you replace your senator with Blake Masters and when we fire Nancy Pelosi.”
