Lake Slams Hobbs for Voting Record on Abortion

In a series of tweets, Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake slammed her opponent, current Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, for Hobbs’ record on abortion.

“[Katie Hobbs] supports Abortion up to the moment of birth & even 3 days after She also supports the gruesome, unimaginable act of leaving babies on a medical tray to die, should they survive a botched Abortion procedure,” Lake said. “This is the stuff out of nightmares & horror stories.”

She added a photo of a vote cast by Hobbs when Hobbs was a member of the Arizona State Senate.

“SB 1367 – Requires Physicians to Attempt to Revive Viable Fetus After Abortion,” the graphic says.

It shows that Hobbs voted against that bill.

Further, Lake’s campaign says that Hobbs is willing to abide by Planned Parenthood’s terms and reject money or support from law enforcement in order to receive Planned Parenthood’s support.

“‘Planned Parenthood Arizona is requiring candidates to either reject or return contributions from law enforcement organizations to receive an endorsement,” the Lake campaign said on Twitter. “[Katie Hobbs] sold out Arizona’s Law Enforcement officers to win Planned Parenthood’s support. And now she’s lying about it.

Lake called the move “disgusting.”

“I will never sell out Arizona’s brave men and women in law enforcement to the radical left,” she said.

Lake elaborated in a Wednesday press release, clarifying that she has been endorsed by law enforcement.

Republican Kari Lake has just been endorsed by the Arizona Police Association … and the choice couldn’t be clearer. Not only does Kari Lake have a bold, game-changing plan to secure our southern border to stop the flow of crime and drugs plaguing Arizona, but unlike Katie Hobbs, Kari Lake has pledged to support Arizona’s police officers and give them the resources they need to keep our communities safe.

What does Katie Hobbs believe? Hobbs has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood, which has endorsed the movement to defund the police. In fact, according to Axios Phoenix, Planned Parenthood Arizona is not only “requiring candidates to either reject or return contributions from law enforcement organizations to receive an endorsement,” but “saw [a candidate’s] endorsement rescinded after she supported the city’s budget, which included funding for police.”

Hobbs’ campaign did not return a Thursday comment request.
