Former President Trump Slams Congressman Adam Schiff for Allegedly Altering Text Messages Shown During Committee Hearing

Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday slammed Congressman Adam Schiff for changing the substance of a text message that he read during a January 6th Committee hearing.

Congressman Schiff (D-CA-28) allegedly altered a text message between White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH-04), according to a report from The Federalist.

“What a disgrace this sleazeball is. Shifty Adam Schiff is a disgrace to America. What is going to be done about this?” Trump said of Schiff.

According to the report, Representative Jordan forwarded the message from Washington attorney and former Department of Defense Inspector General Joseph Schmitz, who authored the words.

Furthermore, he seemingly cut parts of the message from the text message:

Not only did Schiff lie about the substance of the text message and its source, he even doctored the message and graphic that he displayed on screen during his statement. The full text message, which was forwarded to Meadows from Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, on the evening of Monday, Jan. 5, was significantly longer than what Schiff read and put on screen, but Schiff erased significant portions of the text and added punctuation where there was none to give the impression that Jordan himself was tersely directing Meadows to give orders to Pence on how to handle the electoral vote certification.

In addition to Trump, multiple elected leaders have blasted the California congressman for his actions.

“Adam Schiff and his staff doctored a text message between @Jim_Jordan and @MarkMeadows. Expect a lot more of this. Schiff and the contemptible Jan6 committee will twist and smear the narrative every chance they get,” added Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ-05).

Congressman Chip Roy (R-TX-21) said that the action was “more distortions coming from Adam Schiff.”
