Election modeling expert Richard Baris said Thursday in the Kari Lake election lawsuit that his projections showed as many as 40,000 voters were disenfranchised over Election Day chaos in Arizona’s Maricopa County, causing him to “have no doubt” that she would’ve won the gubernatorial election had there no problems at polling centers.
Baris is the final witness for Lake in the scheduled two-day trial for her election lawsuit.
Baris testified that 25,000 to 40,000 voters were disenfranchised in the County on Election Day as a result of the issues at the centers, specifically roughly one on five having problems with ballot tabulator machines in the first hours of Election Day
“We’ve got about 20% of the locations out there where there’s an issue with the tabulator,” said Maricopa Board of Supervisors Chairman Bill Gates, a Republican, said on election night.
He also said some machines wouldn’t accept ballots that voters had filled out.
However, election officials assured voters their ballots would still be counted as a result of redundancy protocols.
“We’ve got about 20% of the locations out there where there’s an issue with the tabulator,” Maricopa Board of Supervisors Chair Bill Gates, a Republican, said in a video posted online. Describing the problem, he said that after some voters filled out their ballot, the machine wouldn’t accept it.
The vote margin between Lake and Hobbs is 17,117 votes.
Baris also said the net gain Lake would’ve received in the votes that weren’t cast on Election Day would have made her the winner of the Arizona gubernatorial election.
Baris also testified that in the exit polling by his firm, Big Data Poll, show 93% of voters who voted early responded to the survey, compared to 72% of Election Day voters. That has “never happened to me before,” Baris said regarding the 20-percentage-point gap between the Election Day voters’ responses compared to early voters.
Lake, the 2022 Arizona GOP gubernatorial nominee, is suing her Democratic opponent, Governor-elect and Secretary of State Katie Hobbs; Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer; the county Board of Supervisors; and county Director of Elections Scott Jarrett.
Lake’s case alleges the “number of illegal votes cast in Arizona’s general election … far exceeds the 17,117 vote margin” between her and Hobbs.
The trial began Wednesday with the testimony of Richer, Jarrett, cybersecurity expert Clay Parikh, county temporary technician Bradley Benticort, and Republican National Committee attorney Mark Sonnenklar.
Following Baris’ testimony, the defendants’ legal team will call four witnesses to the stand, then each side will give closing arguments.

And if you wonder why the courts have consistently ruled against Trump & Lake, it’s because either of them failed to produce sufficient evidence to support their conspiracy theories. It’s time to quit whining, admit defeat, and commit to finding better candidates for office going forward
This 2022 is a fixed election just like 2020 in Az. They did it in 2020. The Dems want total control. Totalitarian USA.if the citizens continue to not study the issues and vote by hunch then we are in for some big troubles. It’s starting already. We reap what we sow.
There should be a repeat voting election to show honesty and unequivocally a straight forward voting election barring the hanky panky. Truth and trustworthyness is waning in Arizona with our officials. Time to prove the openness of truth justice and the American way
I think Katie Hobbs lost the election and Kari Lake Won I think Maricopa has the worst election in out State the machines are no good and putting in the wrong paper was wrong I think the state needs a recount.
The people of Arizona are totally, without a doubt, confident that the court recognizes a scam when they see it. A majority of the state’s voting population made the decision in favor of Gov. Hobbs. Now it’s time for lake to grow up and concede albeit somewhat less than graciously in view of her sore loser actions!
The Dems had the machines and the Maricopa county poll workers paid off way before the elections started President Trump losing in 2020 showed that .. We all need to wake up and put a stop to this illegal polls in. Maricopa county.. None of the other counties have any problems with their machines or using the wrong size paper for ballets. How convient. Why did they substitute wrong size ballets in the first place. Why weren’t the prepared with the correct ballet size? MARICOPA COUNTY ELECTION OFFICIALS ARE ALL PAID OFF . The governor and attorney generals position along with the Semate need to have another election with the correct ballet size for all of Arizona .

We the people of AZ know beyond a shadow of a doubt Kari Lake won. The Judge needs to truly look at the evidence. They Over 100 sworn affidavits if wrong doing g by pill workers. Let us do the election over. Vote one day ballots counted that day done. This evil go tenement we are u der now has to be stopped. The Republi and on the Maricopa County Biard are all Democrats who have an R in front if their names to do the bidding for the Dems. Someday they will answer for all this crap they pulled.
They have over 100 sworn affidavits from Poll Worker of wrong doing. I pray the judge really looks at the evidence. Why didn’t he tell the guy in Florida this was still a trial he needed to dress appropriately & the flipped attitude needed to stop. Such disrespect for the judge & the people of AZ he needs to go. There is always impeachment for Katie Hobbs. We will never except her as our governor & we have impeachment 2 previous governors.
That loser, cheat, and criminal will never represent me here in the great state of Arizona. Lake is the winner and Hobbs is the loser. I liken this to the O.J. Case. Hobbs cheated her way to her supposed victory but in the eyes of the people, she lost. She’s a loser. She speaks as if she represents the people. How wrong she is. We will see.
