Kari Lake Receives Endorsement from Ex-Democrat Tulsi Gabbard

Arizona’s Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake received a new endorsement Monday from former Hawaii representative and now ex-Democrat Tulsi Gabbard.

“For too long establishment leaders from both parties have sought to enrich themselves, play games, and build up their power while ignoring and even enabling the suffering of millions of hard-working Americans. Kari Lake is a leader who puts people first, is fighting for border security, energy independence, public safety, and other policies that actually make life better and more affordable for the American people,” Gabbard said.

Gabbard also stated that Lake has the strength to stand up to elitists in Washington and propagandists in the mainstream media.

In response, Lake said she was honored to have the endorsement “from this American hero.”

The Arizona Sun Times reached out to the Kari Lake campaign for a comment on the endorsement but did not receive a response before publication.

Moreover, the support does not just apply to Lake. As reported by The Hill, Gabbard announced she would also campaign alongside Arizona’s Republican Senate nominee, Blake Masters.

As reported by The Sun Times, Gabbard recently announced her departure from the Democrat Party. In a nearly 30-minute video, Gabbard explained her decision to leave the party.

“I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoke anti-white racism, actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms that are enshrined in our Constitution, who are hostile to people of faith and spirituality, demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans, believe in open borders, weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents, and above all, dragging us ever closer to nuclear war,” Gabbard said.

The video also marked the launch of The Tulsi Gabbard Show, which will be an avenue for political commentary.

Gabbard revealed that she was initially drawn to the Democrat Party because it was, at a time, the party of the little guy and being anti-war. Now, she says the party is not the same one she joined, but is a party weaponizing federal law enforcement for its political goals, turning the county into a “banana Republic.”

One example she pointed to was the Department of Justice’s indictment of 11 pro-life protesters for organizing outside an abortion clinic in 2021. Seven of these protesters now face 11 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 if convicted.

“How can a political party that is opposed to freedom be trusted with our democracy and our God-given freedoms enshrined in the Constitution? They can’t be,” Gabbard said.
