Pima County Democrats Blasted for Vulgar Independence Day Tweet

The Pima County Democratic Party found itself in hot water after it posted a vulgar message about Independence Day to its Twitter account.

“F*ck the Fourth,” the now-deleted tweet said, attaching a flyer for a pro-abortion event at Reid Park sponsored by the Tucson Women’s March.

Gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake noted that while Democrats were cursing America, she would be hosting a July 4 event at a gun range for Republicans, Independents, and former Democrats who have left the party.

“The difference could not be more clear,” she said.

Other conservatives echoed the same sentiment.

Juan Ciscomani, who is running for U.S. Congress in Arizona, blasted the Pima County Democrats in a tweet.

“THIS is who is supporting our opponents. These are the crowds they run in. THIS is what we are up against. I love this country and THIS is why we need to win in November,” he wrote.

Eventually, the group was browbeaten into an apology.

“PCDP posted a graphic advertising a women’s march which, we agree, was in poor taste,” the group said. “We were eager to share the event, and in our haste we used the graphic provided by the event organizer. That was a mistake, and we will do better.”

Still, it made excuses for the post.

“Make no mistake, however. We support the event which will be on July 4 at 7 pm at Reid Park,” it said. “The event was organized to help women in our community grieve for the loss of their bodily autonomy, which we consider an elemental right.”

“Our posting of the graphic upset some people,” the organization said. “We urge you to save your outrage for the women in this state who will die of botched abortions. Arizona is not a good place to be a woman right now.”

Conservative activist Tyler Bowyer noted that the group tried to weasel its way around the apology, blaming the graphic it posted instead of the words it wrote along with the graphic.

“These people are liars – the words they used didn’t ‘accidentally’ share something in ‘poor taste.’ They wrote ‘F*ck the Fourth’ – themselves,” he said. “Do not give your vote to these dishonest people who hate America.”
