State Farm has announced that, amid “news and customer inquiries,” it will discontinue its support for an LGBTQ+ activist group’s program that asked the insurance company to donate books, to schools, community centers, and libraries, that serve to indoctrinate young children into gender ideology under the guise of acceptance, diversity, and inclusion.
The company issued a news release Tuesday focused on an explosive leaked email obtained by Consumers’ Research that revealed State Farm urged its Florida insurance agents to donate radical books celebrating gender ideology that target children as young as age 5.
“State Farm’s support of a philanthropic program, GenderCool, has been the subject of news and customer inquiries,” the insurer said. “This program that included books about gender identity was intended to promote inclusivity.”
The company continued:
We support organizations that provide resources for parents to have conversations about gender and identity with their children at home. We do not support required curriculum in schools on this topic.
As a result, we have made the decision we will no longer be affiliated with the organization. We will continue to explore how we can support our associates, as well as organizations that align with our commitment to diversity and inclusion, including the LGBTQ+ community.
“We recognize and value the diversity of all people and support a culture of respect and inclusion in the communities in which we live and work, as well as our workplace,” State Farm said.
The company’s Twitter account indicates State Farm supports the TrevorProject as well. On May 19, the insurer urged its followers to “learn about challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth in the new 2022 national survey on LGBTQ+ youth mental health from the TrevorProject.”

The TrevorProject states it is a source of crisis intervention for LGBTQ young people with a targeted focus on suicide prevention. The organization has been one of the many activist groups that has promoted the narrative that children who claim discomfort with their biological sex must be immediately “affirmed” as their new gender identity in order to prevent suicide, a theme that has instilled fear in parents of children with mental health issues that involve gender identity.
An apparent whistleblower from within State Farm leaked the email memo, dated January 18, and sent by Jose Soto, State Farm Corporate Responsibility Analyst. The memo specifically requested local State Farm agents to accept books, promoted by the GenderCool Project, an LGBTQ youth activist group, and donate them to classrooms, community centers, and libraries to enable young schoolchildren to have access to these books.
The Washington Examiner reported Monday that Seabury School, a private school in Tacoma, Washington, announced on Facebook in early April it had received a donation of books, produced by the GenderCool Project, from State Farm that promoted gender ideology and were targeted at kindergarten-age children.
The Examiner reported:
The newly unearthed social media post cast doubt on State Farm’s claims that they did not encourage employee volunteers, who donated the books as part of their company partnership with GenderCool, to give them to schools.
According to that report, State Farm told the Examiner its “strategy around this program has evolved, and participants are not being asked to share with schools.”

Will Hild, executive director of Consumers’ First, said State Farm’s backtracking is “too little too late.”
Appearing as a guest on Newsmax’s Stinchfield Monday night, Hild said State Farm has already “done real damage.”

“They need to begin work to fix that, immediately,” he added.

“It’s almost inexplicable what would lead a company to think it was appropriate to approach kindergartners with conversations around sexual identity,” he said.
“State Farm used to be a family-first brand that stood for real American values. Now, State Farm is peddling transgender-in-training books to kindergarten classrooms and lying about it because they got caught,” Hild told the Examiner.
“It is clear that State Farm was asking their agents to donate these books to schools,” he asserted. “It is literally written in the email we received, and there are even photos on social media of schools with the books they received. Maybe if State Farm focused on insurance instead of Woke politics, they wouldn’t have to lie.”
