Law enforcement officials in Arizona seized more than 50 pounds of fentanyl pills from a single person in Phoenix.
The officers found an initial supply of 17 pounds of the lethal drug during a traffic stop in a 21-year-old driver’s vehicle. Furthermore, an additional search warrant of the driver’s residence yielded even more results.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey signed a bill into law on Monday that requires the accommodation of in-person spiritual care visitations for residents of long-term care facilities, including nursing homes and hospices.
The bill, HB2449, had bipartisan support. It passed 57-2 in the House of Representatives and 18-10 in the Senate.

The Yuma Sector Border Patrol Wednesday said it caught a Mexican national who has a record of sexually abusing children crossing the southern border illegally.
The agents “caught a sex offender who illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico Wednesday,” and that “Marco Julio Bran, a 35-year-old Mex[ican] national, was convicted in 2008 for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and was sentenced to three years in prison,” according to Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem.

Dr. Jeremy Berg, associate senior vice chancellor for science strategy and planning in the health sciences at UP, asked then-director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Francis Collins for help in combatting negative media coverage in October 2021 after its experiments on human fetal remains were made public through a FOIA request.
